Project Overview 🌟
Implement a new feature called Profiles to offer more personalisation for multiple users in one TVNZ+ account.
The Profiles feature allows users to create a collection of chosen shows specific to a profile.
It is also to be integrated into the onboarding journey. It is to be available for web, mobile apps and smart TVs.
Business Goal 🎯
Offer a common feature seen in other streaming platforms to meet user expectations and expand TVNZ+ services.
User Goal 🎯
As a user, I would like to create individual profiles customisable for my family, friends and everyone in the household using one account. I want to make a collection of chosen shows specific to a profile.
My Role and Responsibilities 👤
Closely working with the UX manager and product manager to design the overall Profiles pages, components, behaviours and flows for all endpoints.
Final Implementation ✅
UX Process
Design 🎨
Create the pages and components required to achieve multiple goals, such as creating, adding, editing and deleting profiles for all endpoints.
Designing for the different ways of interaction by touch, mouse, keyboard and TV remote.
User Flows and Prototypes🌳
Map out our user’s journeys and options in achieving their goals. User flows also help clearly communicate the flows for development for all endpoints.
User Acceptance Test (UAT) 📐
Working with our testers (QA) and developers for rounds of feedback to meet design specifications for each endpoint.
Providing comprehensive feedback, instructions and screenshots for development.
Reflection
The project allowed me to create many components with complex behaviours and interactive elements for the web, mobile apps and smart TVs. In addition, it gave a deeper understanding of the design and development process, as many squads for each endpoint were involved.
Seeing the Profiles feature live and now available for the TVNZ+ product is a great accomplishment.
